BOSCO Uganda, through the CE3 Project, has completed another training for 62 participants. The three weeks training took place at BOSCO Uganda’s Bardege ICT Center from September 13 – 29, 2016. The participants attended training sessions twice a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All sessions lasted appriximaely 3 hours.
The objectives of the training were:
- To help business owners and would be entrepreneurs to acquire a broad perspective of their business and environment as the program sought to help them develop growth strategies, increase business operations for optimum performance, and strategically set realistic goals.
- To help aspiring entrepreneurs considering business ownership to gain an understanding of what it takes to plan and run a business before investing in starting one.
- To help business owners gain insight that would help them to determine the state of their businesses and the things that would be required for them to reach their business goals.
- To enable participants kick start small and grow, and seek support on business processing.
The topics covered during the training were: an introduction to Entrepreneurship, Business Planning, Markets and Marketing, Costing and Pricing, Good Record Keeping and Business Management, respectively.
The training attracted a total of 62 participants comprising of teachers, businessmen and women, students on vacation, university students, social workers, farmers, doctors, graduates, and youth. The participants came from within Gulu town and the neighboring districts of Pader, Agago, Amuru, Nwoya and Lamwo respectively.
The Entrepreneurship Essentials Course is a six topic, six week, computer-based training program. The Entrepreneurship Essentials Course helps to equip learners with basic skills in business and entrepreneurship. All participants who go through the course are able to perform basic business operations such as drawing business plans, marketing, costing and pricing, keeping records, business management and other basic functions.
The 62 trainnes will now join hundreds of other people who have benefitted from BOSCO Uganda’s Entrepreneurship Essentials trainings.
