BOSCO Uganda has yet added a new community group to it’s globalized network to bridge the digital divide amongst the people of Norther Uganda on board.
This new ICT Centre was installed on Monday 8th May 2017 at Children of the World Foundation, a Non-Profit Organization abbreviated as COW Foundation founded on May 19, 2006 with the Mission; To empower communities to provide for holistic child development through creating and promoting an enabling environment in which Vulnerable Children are adequately protected, cared for and supported
Key focused areas include Pediatric HIV/AIDS, Livelihood, Child protection, water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)/education.
Since both COW Foundation has a mission like BOSCO Uganda’s objective under the project intervention “Enhance Human Rights and development through ICT in Northern Uganda”, this Community Centre will support the ICT /Computer-based entrepreneurship training for the youth in Gang Dyang Parish where COW Foundation is Physically located and Kitgum District at large.
This then adds the total number of Community ICT Centre that BOSCO Uganda is supporting to 33 Community ICT Centres that will greatly contribute to bridging the digital divides among the people of northern Uganda for respect of human rights and to use the entrepreneurship skills they acquired from the different ICT Centres for self reliance and holistic development
