Fr. Joseph Okumu was born in 1954 in Northern Uganda. He was ordained a priest in July, 1981. He holds an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Theology (1975-1981), an MA and PhD in Anthropology from the Urban University in Rome (1989-1994), and a Diploma Studies in Education from Makerere University (1998). He has worked as a Docent in Uganda’s National Seminary in Northern Uganda (1982-1986), as an assistant parish priest in Kitgum, Northern Uganda (1987-1988), a Cultural Anthropology Research Fellow in Northern Uganda, and is currently also the Director of Catechetical Training Institute in the Archdiocese of Gulu. He is a Postulator of the Cause of Beatification of the Servant of God Angelo Negri MCCJ. He is fluent in Acholi, English, and Italian. He also writes and readers Latin and Kiswahili.

Sr. Betty was born in Fort portal, Western Uganda in 1973. Her ancestral home is Agago District, Northern Uganda.
Sr. Betty currently is pursuing an MBA from Gulu University Uganda; and holds BA in Sciences & Praxis of Human Development from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) in Nairobi, Kenya. She also holds a Post graduate diploma in Financial Management from Uganda Management Institute Uganda and Post graduate diploma in Conflict Management from Gulu University Uganda. She holds an undergraduate Diploma in Human Development from CUEA-Nairobi-Kenya; as well as a Certificate in Public Administration from Makerere University-Gulu Branch.
Sr. Betty is a religious nun belonging to the Congregation of the Little Sisters of Mary Immaculate of Gulu. She professed in 1998 and finalist of the Congregation.
Sr Betty has taught at St Joseph’s Catechists Training Center (CTC) for the last 9 years and served as the CTC accountant for 6 years. At BOSCO Uganda, Sr Betty is the Finance Administrator & Accountant, whose roles include taking responsibility of all books of account, preparing monthly trial balances, giving financial up-dates and preparing the annual budget. Sr Betty has experience in financial & personnel management. She has also facilitated a number of trainings and workshops for Catechists’ wives, Secondary School Children and NGO staff on: income generating activities, financial management, record keeping, peace building and conflict management respectively. She speaks Acholi, English & abit of Kiswhali. She enjoys reading and computing in her spare time. She is a very peaceful person generally outgoing and friendly to all.

Alfred graduated with a degree in Information Technology from Gulu University in 2013; and a diploma in Information Technology from Kampala International University in 2005. He first worked for the CARITAS Gulu Archdiocese doing database management until 2007. Alfred joined BOSCO-Uganda in 2008 and was delegated supervision of routine checking and maintenance of the BOSCO-Uganda systems, including wireless antennas, low power computers, batteries and solar systems. He also designs network diagrams, takes coordinates for new sites, trains other technical persons, does record keeping of equipment and inventory and researches new technologies to improve the already existing deployments.

Daniel joined BOSCO-Uganda in November 2011 as an IT Field Coordinator. He oversees sites in Gulu, Pader, Agago and Lira Districts, conducts basic trainings, assesses community sustainability plans, follows up on user statistics and reports field activities back to BOSCO-Uganda project coordinators. Before BOSCO, Daniel was a researcher at Innovations for Poverty Action. He has a Bachelors degree in Information Technology from Mbarara University of Science and Technology.

Robert holds a Bachelors Degree of Information Technology from Ndejje University (2010), joined BOSCO-Uganda in November 2011, as Field Coordinator in charge of BOSCO ICT sites in the districts of Amuru, Nwoya, Kitgum and Lamwo of Acholi Sub Region. His roles and responsibilities include but not limited to; Program Induction /Orientation of the new sites, Organizing community dialogues on program awareness and sensitization, Liaising with respective Local Governments, different stakeholders and development partners, ensuring effective and efficient application of ICT basic skills training package, Monitoring and ensuring quality implementation of organization programme activities, ensuring efficient application of Monitoring and Evaluation tools in all sites, assisting the Technical Department in execution of assigned ICT duties.

Jacob is a Technician at BOSCO-Uganda tasked with but not limited to Monitoring the Network Traffic, ensuring that all sites are up and running, quick response to emergency calls from the sites.
A native of Gulu, Uganda, Jacob lived in the North, Central and East of the country before settling in the capital of the greater North where he now makes his home.
Prior to joining BOSCO-Uganda in 2011, As a student, He volunteered with Concordia Volunteers Abroad Program (CVAP) in Gulu from 2007 to 2008. Okot Solomon Nono Holds a Bachelors Degree in Information Technology from Islamic University in Uganda, Mbale Main Campus (2012), CISCO Certificate of Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) from Islamic University in Uganda (2011-2012), Certificate in Microsoft Applications from Luxury Computers Uganda Gulu Branch (2012) and currently pursuing a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Planning and Management from Gulu University. Fiona started working with Bosco Uganda at Bardege ICT Centre in 2010, and is now based in the BOSCO-Uganda main office where she focuses on office and clerical support duties. da main office still doing the same duties and responsibilities up to now. She is also currently pursing a National Diploma in Accounting and Finance with Northern Institute of Business Studies NIBS in Gulu and and plans to finish in June 2015.
In the Academic year 2012/2013 Fiona enrolled for a certificate in Secretarial and Information Management from Gulu University which led to a Certificate in Secretarial and Information Management.
She started a Uganda Advance level of Education in 2009 and completed in 2010 from Kitigum Town College where she obtained Uganda Advance Certificate of Education (UACE) certificate.

Mary Lorna – Technical Project Assistant
Mary Lorna joined BOSCOUganda in June 2013 as a Project Assistant-Technical. In that role she supports inventory management of items, online network monitoring, installation of solar power systems to the sites, attending to the sites/clients complaints, troubleshooting of power outbreaks and network at the main office and the sites, deployment and installation of Computer systems to the sites, maintaining and repairing of computer hardwares and softwares in the office and partially to the sites in case of breakages.
Prior to BOSCO she volunteered with Human Rights Focus as an IT Specialist and Access Database Manager from November 2012 to May 2013, worked as a Data Entrant with Human Rights Focus Research Project in October 2012.
She graduated from Gulu University in January 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and her thesis was on a Mobile Phone Application for agriculture called Mobile Market. She is currently pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Procurement and Supply Chain Management from Gulu University.
She is an Acholi with strong Love for the culture. She speaks Luo and English. She likes playing netball and volleyball, watching basketball, listening to music more so country ones, computing, adventuring, discovering, creative jokes and funs, Challenges, surrounding herself with people who discuss ideas.
