Rev Fr. Joseph Okumu,
Executive Director of BOSCO Uganda
Fr. Joseph Okumu was born in 1954 in Northern Uganda. He was ordained a priest in July, 1981. He holds an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Theology (1975-1981), an MA and PhD in Anthropology from the Urban University in Rome (1989-1994), and a Diploma Studies in Education from Makerere University (1998). He has worked as a Docent in Uganda’s National Seminary in Northern Uganda (1982-1986), as an assistant parish priest in Kitgum, Northern Uganda (1987-1988), a Cultural Anthropology Research Fellow in Northern Uganda, and is currently also the Director of Catechetical Training Institute in the Archdiocese of Gulu. He is a Postulator of the Cause of Beatification of the Servant of God Angelo Negri MCCJ. He is fluent in Acholi, English, and Italian. He also writes and readers Latin and Kiswahili.

Sister Betty Atim, Finance Administrator and Accountant, BOSCO Uganda
Sr. Betty was born in Fortportal, Western Uganda in 1973 . Her ancestoral home is Pader District, Northern Uganda.
Sr. Betty holds an undergraduate Diploma and BA in Sciences & Praxis of Human Development from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa in Nairobi, Kenya(2001-2004). She also holds a post-graduate Diploma in Conflict Management and Peace Building, attained from Gulu University; as well as a post-graduate Certificate in Public Administration from Makerere University-Gulu Branch.
Sr. Betty is a religious nun belonging to the Congregation of the Little Sisters of Mary Immacualte of Gulu. She proffessed in 1998.
Sr Betty has taught at St Joseph’s Catehists Training Center (CTC) for the last 9 years and served as the CTC Finance aAdministrator for 6 years. At BOSCO Uganda, Sr Betty is the Finance and Administration Manager (FAM) whose roles include taking responsibility of all books of account, preparing monthly trial balances, giving financial up-dates and preparing the annual budget. Sr Betty has experience in financial & personnel management. She has also facilitated a number of trainings and workshops for Catechists’ wives, seconary school children and NGO staff on: income generating activities, financial management, record keeping, peacebuilding and conflict management respectively. She speaks Acholi, English & abit of Kiswhali. She enjoys reading and computing in her spare time. She is a very peaceful person generally outgoing and friendly to all.

Alfred Kilama, Technical Assistant, BOSCO Uganda
Alfred graduated with a degree in Information Technology from Kampala International University in 2005. He first worked for the CARITAS Gulu Archdiocese doing database management until 2007. Alfred joined BOSCO Uganda in 2008 and was delegated supervision of routine checking and maintenance of the BOSCO Uganda systems, including wireless antennas, low power computers, batteries and solar systems. He also designs network diagrams, takes coordinates for new sites, trains other technical persons, does record keeping of equipment and inventory and researches new technologies to improve the already existing deployments.

Stella Akiteng, Project Coordinator, BOSCO Uganda
Stella Akiteng currently serves as a Project Coordinator at BOSCO Uganda. Her roles & responsibilities include: To look after specific project areas funded by respective donors, Represent the views of the organisation in the project areas in question; Contribute towards broadening and sustaining the funding base of BOSCO; Conduct Needs Assessments, develope Monitoring & Evaluation tools; Build & Maintain Rapport with BOSCO Stakeholders.
Stella is pursuing an MA (Arts) in Communications from Antlantic International University, Honolulu-Hawaii; and holds a BA(Arts) in Communication Skills and English Language Studies from Makerere University, Kampala, Uganda. Through partnerships, she has undergone a series of trainings in Forum Theatre (Eastern Africa Workcamps Association, UNESCO and Coordinating Committee for International Voluntary Services-CCIVS), Youth Cooperation Programme (Ms. Uganda/Ms. Exchange Department-Denmark, Eastern Africa Workcamps Association), Child Protection (UNICEF,Gulu District Local Government & Heilbrunn department of population and family planning-Columbia University, Mailman School of Public Health), Peace & Conflict Studies (Institute for Peace & Conflict Studies-Tanzania) and Youth Work (Youth Training Institute-Bungoma and Daystar University-Nairobi, Kenya). She has also served children, youth, refugees and IDPs with local NGOs in Uganda; which has also earned her experience in Leadership/Management, Training/ Facilitation, Mentoring and presenting papers.
Stella is originally from Kumi District, North Eastern Uganda. She enjoys taking advantage of every opportunity to learn towards positive development. She loves traveling; nature, art & craft; and is a fun of country music.

Peter Frühwirth, Technical Advisor, HORIZONT3000
Born in Austria. Currently he is working for HORIZONT3000 – Austrian Organisation for Development Co-Operation. Since 2011 he is based in Gulu, Uganda, working as a full-time consultant for BOSCO Uganda in Northern Uganda. Besides support in organizational development and capacity building he is mainly supporting BOSCO Uganda in the implementation of adequate concepts of ICT4D ( ICT for Development) in rural areas.
